EO/Herb of the

Wake Up to Spring with Peppermint!
Peppermint
Essential Oil (Mentha
piperita)
is widely credited with being a digestive aid.
Peppermint leaves contain menthol, which is a proven aid
to digestion. The familiar aroma of
Mentha piperita
is known for both its warming and cooling properties.
Friendly to the sinuses, peppermint is also useful to
the muscular system, especially for women during monthly
cycles or menopause. Peppermint is commonly known from
peppermint tea, chewing gum or candy, but the Essential
Oil is much stronger and concentrated and should be used in moderation.
A few benefits of Peppermint Essential Oil:
-
Very fresh and clean smelling
-
Refreshing, mental stimulant, energizing, used to
enhance well-being of digestive and respiratory system
-
Relieves bad breath
-
Good nerve tonic that helps with
mental fatigue and nervous stress

Notes from the Soaperie
They say that Spring has Sprung, though I must say, I'm
not quite sure where! I had high hopes here in
Calgary this past weekend while March was ending like a
lamb, but alas, April came with 2 inches of snow and
temperatures well below zero. Of course, living in
Calgary this is to be expected, and so I keep my chin
up, excited about the prospect of buds and bulbs.
My favourite flowers come up in Spring - tulips,
daffodils, crocus - all so bright and cheerful and
giving the air such a luscious, sweet aroma; reminiscent
of my childhood.
Speaking of sweet aromas, we've been busy cooking up a
few new products that you'll be seeing over the next
couple of months. Watch for a kit for gardeners in
May, and a brand new line of products just for the boys
hitting the floor in June.
You may have noticed our newsletter looks a little
different now. With a few new sections (Jill's Picks,
What's Happening?) we hope to bring you some more info
and events that are going on across Canada. We're also
featuring one retailer every month; a little showcase of
the fantastic stores countrywide that have discovered
us. Please email us if you have any suggestions or
comments on the newsletter.
Happy Spring, and see you in May!

Jill's Picks:
Natur'el Organic Teas
When
I’m looking for a great cup of tea, I like to try
organic, exotic teas. Where’s a great place to find
those? The Natur’el Tea Room in Banff. The owner, Jolene
Brewster is always happy to chat about her
products and serve up a delicious cup of tea. The bonus:
you choose your own teacup! A selection of fine (some
antique) china and mugs are available for use while
warming up or chilling out in the tea room, which opens
onto Banff’s main street.
I haven’t yet had the pleasure of trying all of their
teas, but I highly recommend the Jamaican Red Bush,
Jasmine Golden Flower, Artic Raspberry and the Organic
Mango Mango.
So delicious!
