EO/Herb of the Month:
The Blossoms of Spring - Neroli Essential Oil from the Sweet Orange/Bitter Orange Tree

Being a month for moms, I thought I'd ask mine what her favourite flowers are. While she and I love the same ones, none of them are tapped for essential oils! Instead, I thought I would pick an oil reminiscent of childhood. We had a sweet orange tree outside of one of the rooms of our home, and would relish in its delicious scent every year when it bloomed.

Neroli, or Citrus aurantium essential oil increases circulation and stimulates new cell growth. It can prevent scarring and stretch marks, and has been found useful in treating skin conditions linked to emotional stress. Any type of skin can benefit from Neroli essential oil, although it is particularly good for dry, irritated or sensitive skin. It regulates oiliness and minimizes enlarged pores. Neroli oil helps to clear acne and blemished skin, especially if the skin lacks moisture. With regular treatment, it can reduce the appearance of fragile or broken capillaries and varicose veins.

A few benefits of Neroli Essential Oil:

Antidepressant  ~  Antiseptic  ~  Antispasmodic  ~ Aphrodisiac  ~  Carminative  ~  Cordial  ~  Deodorant  ~  Digestive  ~  Stimulant (nervous)  ~  Tonic (cardiac, circulatory)

Notes from the Soaperie
A Thought on Moms

I recently had the pleasure of spending a week with my mom in Vancouver during the Gift Show. While the weather was less than stellar, I was both surprised and thrilled at her enthusiasm for battling the wind and rain.  We had a great time checking out the sights ~ Victoria, Horseshoe Bay and Granville Island to name a few.

It was our first 'mother-daughter' trip ever ~ something I'd highly recommend everyone do at some point. You never

Sweet Peas - mom's favourite!        know when the opportunity might not
                                             come again.

Looking for something for your mom this mother's day? How about a Mini Spa Kit or a Gardening Kit? Whatever you choose, make sure it's a gift from the heart - something that reflects you, and not simply another 'World's Greatest Mom' mug!

For all you dads out there, have no fear. The Jack Line is coming just in time for Father's Day. We'll have a shaving soap, after shave spritz, hand salve, muscle rub and a couple more goodies!

To all of the mothers out there ~ have a great day on Sunday .
You deserve it!
