EO/Herb of the
Month:
R O S E
(Rosa
damascena)
The ultimate woman's oil, Rose Essential Oil is calming
and supportive. In addition to its lovely, intoxicating,
floral aroma, Rosa damascena is known for its balancing
effect on female hormones, its ability to calm the mind
and its comfort for those suffering from grief or the
loss of a loved one.
Within aromatherapy work, this essential oil is
commonly
used in anti-depression blends and blends
for menopause and irregular cycles. It is also useful in
facial formulations as it helps with dry, maturing skin
and wrinkles.
Steam-distilled rose oil is known as "rose otto" while
the solvent extracted product is known as "rose
absolute".

Celebrate Love
Our web site’s home page this month I think says it all,
"Celebrate
loving someone. Celebrate loving yourself." What an
amazing and powerful statement that is, and how true at
this time of year.
There always seems to be one person in
each of our lives that, if you are anything like me, is
the last in line for a kind word of appreciation or even
love - ourselves! We seem to be hardest on our own
being for what we
have done and most especially what we have not done.
Lately I have missed several self-imposed
deadlines and as a result I have been very free with my
self-criticism about these so called failures. Yet there are many
things that I have accomplished during the same period
of time that were important and needed to be done but
for which there were no hugs or back pats to
congratulate a job well done.
It is said that you can not truly love
another until you are able to truly love and accept
yourself. Perhaps if we each paid a little more
attention to the person inside and were as free with our
self-love and congratulations as were are with our self-reproach, maybe the world could be a kinder and better
place. As we each prepare to celebrate our
love for someone special this year lets all take a
moment to stop and give ourselves a little sumpin'
sumpin', we’ve earned it!
With love,
Jill |

Freshening Up
Fragrances
It's time for us to say goodbye to a couple of scents,
and a big HELLO! to a fresh & fun new one.
Looking back at a few of our scents over the last couple
of years, we've found that our By the Seashore and
Almond Grove just haven't been as popular as others, and
so we have decided to discontinue them.
We will phase out Bath & Body products containing these
scents over the next month. As we run out of stock on
these items, they will be removed from the online
shopping cart.
We
have a fantastic new scent launching next week at the
Alberta Gift Show - Grapefruit + Ginger (made with
Organic essential oils) and we're sure you'll love it.
Stay tuned for more info, and it will be for sale on our
website by the end of February.
Have a look at what we've got and stock up while you
can!

Shades of Green
In
our last newsletter we mentioned that we've contracted a
local recycling firm to help us limit as much landfill
waste as possible. While we wait for city-wide recycling
in 2009, we currently use
Calgary Community Recycling . Check them out if
you're local, or find something similar in your
community! |
