As I write this note I'm sitting
in Toronto amidst rain, rain and more rain. While it's a
refreshing(?!) change from the Alberta snow, it is nice
to see and smell the beginnings of spring out here.
The One of a Kind Spring Show is almost at an end and
we'd like to thank all of our new and repeat customers
for supporting us at the show. There are some amazing
artisans here, and it is wonderful to have such a great
turnout despite the current economic situation.
Never has there been a better or more crucial time to
buy Canadian and to support your local artisans, farmers
and small businesses.
I'm excited
about our Mother's Day promotion - our

Spring Cleaning!
As we were getting
ready for the One of a Kind Show a few weeks ago, we
realized we had some product that needed to be cleared
out. Although we have discontinued our Summer
Nights scent, we still have quite a bit of product on
the shelves that is all looking for good homes!
To
that end, we have set up a Clearance Section on our
website where you can find all sorts of goodies (not
just Summer Nights!). This section will be a permanent
new addition to the site - check it out every once in a
while for overstock sales, products whose labels may not
be quite right, etc.

 Shades of Green
Earth's Courier
We were recently contacted by a business
owner from Calgary about the possibility of using the
glycerin leftover from his bio-diesel processing for
soapmaking. While we weren't able to use the product
because we don't make bar soap, we connected him with a
local soapmaker who was thrilled to work with him.
I was, however, very impressed with his business. Earth's Courier
is committed to the environment and reducing Green House
Gas Emissions by being Calgary's only courier company to
use Bio-Diesel fuel in all company vehicles. They also
promote and pursue environmentally friendly alternatives
through the use of recycled materials and renewable
energy to the overall minimization of company waste.
Their rates
are competitive with other Calgary couriers and they are
working hard at minimizing their carbon footprint. I
highly recommend sourcing out such a company wherever
you are, should you have the need.
